🍼 Baby Capsule Installation

Many parents prefer to use a baby capsule or carrier for the first six months — the benefit is you don’t disturb your baby’s sleep when transitioning from car to pram. Bub can stay undisturbed through the transition.

Another great advantage: all you need is a second base installed in the grandparents’ car, making it much easier if they need to pick up your child from day care in an emergency. Hiring an additional base costs approximately $65 for a couple of months, compared to several hundred dollars for a convertible car seat.

Whenever a capsule is fitted, it should ideally go on the passenger side of the vehicle — mainly because the narrow centre position, and the split in the back seat, can make it unsafe to install a capsule in the middle where the upper tether may fall between the split.

It is not sufficient to have VACC or RACV membership as the training is not continually updated by the manufacturers. I have even seen instances where some member were not even aware that ISOFIX had been introduced (1 year after the release of the new standards) and were telling the parents that the seat they have just bought was illegal in Australia.

Certified Car Seat Installation – What is involved

In Melbourne Certified Car seat installation involves a number of different activities which help the parents understand the importance of car safety and the use of the child restraint

1- Car seat Safety Check. We ensure that your child restraint is approved for Australian use and the child restraint is less than 10 years old. Additionally we check for any issues such as fraying of the tether straps and / or the harness.
