Summary

Recommended : The Britax B-Compaq convertible car seat is an updated Graphene with the Bfirst treatment, receiving the new SICT technology, the shell and the ventilation is similiar to the Bfirst. The addition of isofix (called isoflex) makes installation very easy. The additional of a level guide hopefully will remind parents not to push their seats too far back.

Britax B-Compaq Installation

The hardest part of the installation is removing the isoflex connectors from the compartments under the seat. Once removed, the next difficult is to recline the seat to the rear facing recline position, this is best done with the seat on its side. The level indicator provides re-assurance that your baby will be secured at the correct angle.

Connecting the isoflex connectors and tensioning was straight forward and should not give any difficulty to parents installing themselves

Ease of use (Britax B-compaq)

Easy Adjust Harness

The easy adjust harness has received the Bfirst treatment, where the lever to hajust the headrest height and harness height is situated at the top of the headrest. The harness adjustment of the Graphene has a puch label at the front of the seat and a blue lever at the back, both are awkward to use, and for a carer with limited dexterity, the graphene was difficult to adjust. The New B-Compaq is definitely easier than the graphene to adjust.

Comfort

The Britax B-Compaq convertible car seat has received the ventilation comfort feature from the Bfirst, keeping bubs cooler with the Thermo5 fabric and allowing air to flow through the seat.

Ease of use

This is where the Britax B-Compaq falls down. Tensioning of the harness is straight forward, however loosening the harness, britax have only provided a slot, which does not line up with the button underneath the fabric. The problem is resolved by pulling the covers up to reveal the button underneath, allowing the user to release
