The Britax Graphene comes with both Isofix and seat belt installation options, with three recline positions: one for rear-facing, one upright forward-facing, and one recline forward-facing position.
π¬οΈ Thermo fabric
The Thermo fabric is a wicking fabric (Thermo5) designed to draw moisture away from your child, keeping them cooler. The Thermo fabric is also easier to clean.
π§ Britax Graphene Isofix
In 1997 Britax, along with Volkswagen, created the Isofix system, designed to help parents install their child restraints easier. With over 20 years of creating car seats, the Isofix on the Britax Graphene is easy to attach and tension, and provides a solid installation. When Isofix cannot be used, the Isofix connections tuck easily into a compartment and are hidden.
ποΈ Britax Graphene recline
The Britax Graphene has three recline positions: one for rear-facing and two for forward-facing. The forward-facing recline can be achieved by squeezing the pedestal at the rear and moving to the required position. The rear-facing recline requires squeezing the pedestal at the rear and moving to the required position.
Note: The forward-facing recline position is only a slight recline in some cars where there is a separation between the car seat. When you need a better forward recline, we suggest the Britax Millenia.
π½ Safer harness design
The Britax Graphene car seat, like all Britax seats, has a harness increment of 15mm β whereas other manufacturers such as Maxi Cosi have a 30mm adjustment and Infa Secure have roughly a 40mm adjustment. This smaller harness adjustment means the harness is in the optimal position and closer to your child’s shoulders, keeping them safer.
An additional benefit of the smaller increments is that there is less chance your child will get their arms out of the harness.

Adjusting the harness position on the Graphene is not as easy as the Millenia. In rear-facing mode, the easiest way to adjust the harness position is using the blue lever at the rear of the seat. In forward-facing mode, you must press down on a “PUSH” label and then at the same time lift the headrest up. This motion can be difficult and made harder for people with arthritis and long nails.
β οΈ Harness loosening
In early models of the Graphene, one of the biggest problems was that when you want to loosen the harness you must pull both straps together. When you try to pull one harness strap to loosen the harness, the spreader plate gets caught and tangled with the upper tensioning bar, such that when you tighten the harness next time one harness strap will be longer than the other.
π§Ό Easy cleaning
Unlike many other car seats out there, it is possible to easily take off the Graphene covers, without un-installing the Graphene, should they get messy.
π§ Britax baby seat installation
Installation of the Britax Graphene is easy when your car has Isofix points to use. The installation using the seat belt is somewhat harder, requiring a locking clip or gated buckle. A possible easier solution is to ask the baby store for a “Lockie” β it replaces the gated buckle and is used on the buckle side.
